Causes for celebration:

*Michelangelo's David was unveiled (to rave reviews, we're sure) in Florence in 1504. We'll see if "David" Shankar Johnston will try a bit of unveiling for us as the night progresses.

*1810 – The Tonquin sets sail from New York Harbor with 33 employees of John Jacob Astor's newly created Pacific Fur Company on board. After a six-month journey around the tip of South America, the ship arrives at the mouth of the Columbia River and Astor's men establish the fur-trading town of Astoria, Oregon. February; what a great time to arrive in the Pacific Northwest! All that wet fur!!!

*1930 – 3M begins marketing Scotch transparent tape. Now that's something you can stick with!

Age limit: All ages
